In Christ Alone
Keith Getty and Stuart Townend

In Christ alone my hope is found
He is my light, my strength, my song
This Cornerstone, this solid ground
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm
What heights of love, what depths of peace
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease
My Comforter, my All in All
Here in the love of Christ I stand

In Christ alone, who took on flesh
Fullness of God in helpless babe
This gift of love and righteousness
Scorned by the ones He came to save
'Till on that cross as Jesus died
The wrath of God was satisified
For every sin on Him was laid
Here in the death of Christ I live

There in the ground His body lay
Light of the world by darkness slain
Then bursting forth in glorious Day
Up from the grave He rose again
And as He stands in victory
Sin's curse has lost it's grip on me
For I am His and He is mine
Brought with the precious blood of Christ

No guilt in life, no fear in death
This is the power of Christ in me
From life's first cry to final breath
Jesus commands my destiny
No power of hell, no scheme of man
Can ever pluck me from His hand
'Till He returns or calls me home
Here in the power of Christ I'll stand

Not much to really say here...the song says it all.

Jesus is...
...my hope
...the one who keeps me going when I can't go on anymore
...the one who loves me no matter what happens
...the one who never gives up on me
...the one who protects me
...the one who paid a price I couldn't pay
...the one who forgave me
...the one who gave me true life
...the one who is everything I need
...the one who I love more than anything or anyone

I hope you're not missing out on Him. I'll say it again: there is nothing that beats knowing Him. Everything is empty without Him. You can have everything in the world, and without Him, you'll still be empty. You don't have to worry about this crazy world we live in. He will help you. He will guide you. He wants to change your life. He wants to make everything new.

You
...the person reading this right now. He wants to do this for you.

He's waiting for you to let Him. He wants to transform your life beyond anything you could ever possibly imagine. You're not too bad. Your life isn't too messed up. You haven't gone beyond His reach. You haven't gone beyond His love. Everything is possible with Him. Anyone can be forgiven. Come as you are and let Him make you a new creation.

"Now glory be to God! By his mighty power at work within us, he is able to accomplish infinitely more than we would ever dare to ask or hope."
-Ephesians 3:20 NLT

I don't remember where I found this verse, but it stuck out to me and I just came across it again in my journal. I don't really have a whole article to write on it; I've just been reading it...thinking about it.

I guess I'm just amazed when I think about things like this--that God would want to do so much in my life. I think so small sometimes. Actually most, if not all of the time. I can't even imagine what He has in store.

"Then I look at my micro-self and wonder, Why do you bother with us? Why take a second look our way?"
-Psalm 8:4 MSG

God's love is amazing--that He would do all He has done for little man down here. That He, the King of the universe, would want to be involved in our lives and transform them. That He would want to use us to make a difference for eternity. That He would die for us so we could be with Him. That He wants to be intimate with us. That He wants us to know Him.

O LORD, our Lord, the majesty of your name fills the earth!
Your glory is higher than the heavens.

You have taught children and nursing infants
to give you praise. They silence your enemies
who were seeking revenge.

When I look at the night sky and see the work of your fingers--
the moon and the stars you have set in place--

what are mortals that you should think of us,
mere humans that you should care for us?

For you made us only a little lower than God,
and you crowned us with glory and honor.

You put us in charge of everything you made,
giving us authority over all things--

the sheep and the cattle
and all the wild animals,

the birds in the sky, the fish in the sea,
and everything that swims the ocean currents.

O LORD, our Lord, the majesty of your name fills the earth!
-Psalm 8 NLT
