Strong Tower

"For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy."
- Psalm 61:3

"The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe."
- Proverbs 18:10

I was thinking about God's Word earlier this afternoon; just about the importance of staying in it. I wasn't quite sure how to put what I was thinking into words.

Life is a battle. There are so many things that come at us. There are times when we feel beat up, confused, and tired. There are times when our Enemy is bombarding us with assault after assault. But,

God's word is a place of safety.

When I am with God I am safe. In that place, no enemy can get me, any problem gets put into perspective, and I can have peace and new courage. As the above verses say, "The Lord is a strong tower". He cannot be defeated, in fact, He has already won.

When I wander through the desert
And I'm longing for my home
All my dreams have gone astray
When I'm stranded in the valley
And I'm tired and all alone
It seems like I've lost my way

In the middle of my darkness
In the nidst of all my fear

Fortress when I'm weak

And Your face is all I seek
